9 Essential Seoul Restaurants: A Practical Neighborhood Guide
Seoul food works better as one meal fitted into your existing route than as a race through a checklist. These nine picks balance longevity, a distinctive local dish, and current high-trust references.[1][5] Price symbols are relative bands researched on September 13, 2026; menu prices can change.
Choose by area
• For Jongno/Euljiro, pick just one soup, naengmyeon, or Gwangjang Market stop.
• On a Myeongdong day, pair shopping with Hadongkwan or Myeongdong Kyoja.
• Treat Yukjeon Hoekwan or Mongtan as a separate Mapo/Yongsan dinner.
• Consider Tosokchon for an early lunch on a Gyeongbokgung day. Do not force several famous meals into one day.
Check before leaving
Recheck opening days, hours, prices, and waitlist cutoff through the restaurant’s current official channel. Coordinates are for finding the entrance; compare both the road address and Korean name in your map app. Old institutions may not take reservations and can close after selling out.
