National AI Computing Center Breaks Ground, Launching Full-Scale Buildout of Korea’s ‘AI Highway’ (Roundup)

The science ministry broke ground in Haenam on a national AI computing center backed by 2.5 trillion won. The project aims to install 15,000 GPUs by 2028 to support large-scale AI training and research while providing computing resources to industry, academia, research institutes, startups, and SMEs.
