Trump Threatens to Block Canadian Bombardier Jet Sales in the US
US President Donald Trump warned that Bombardier would be barred from selling aircraft in the United States unless the Canadian manufacturer moved production there, although he did not explain how a ban would be enforced. The statement came shortly before Canada was due to impose retaliatory tariffs on $20 billion of US goods, after trade talks collapsed and Washington placed 50% tariffs on a range of Canadian products. Bombardier employs 3,500 Americans at a Kansas facility, and US customers operate about half of its global fleet of roughly 5,100 aircraft.
